Small team now back at Peak UK HQ

Great news! Today three more of the Peak UK team started back to work at PQK HQ, all working to new social distancing guidelines.

For the safety of our workforce and their families, Peak UK has been completely closed during the lockdown period. Last week, when lockdown restrictions were eased and paddlers could get back out on the water again, we started a phased return to work. To begin with, just the warehouse manager Phil has been working solo to process and ship orders out. Then today, after many late nights preparing our new work space, the sewing team and designer have also returned to restart production of our custom paddling gear.

Each team member has their own safe work area, loads of hand wash, and solutions ( including custom snoods!! ) have been put in place to enable shared space such as the kitchen and bathrooms to be safely used.

Peak UK’s owner Pete Astles commented:

“ We’re lucky that we have a great space here to social distance. With a bit of shuffling things round we’ve created "Safe Working Areas" for everyone. We’ve set some new rules of the mill, which unfortunately mean no making tea for the boss!! This is not so good, although I’ve installed a kettle in my office! “

Please bear with us a little longer. Service is resuming slowly, and we’re not fully back up to speed yet. Things will get back to the new normal over the next few weeks as we modify our working processes and bring the rest of the team back.

Our meeting room is now outside and the showroom has now become our sewing room. Unfortunately the showroom will be closed until we are safely through this crisis. For the safety of our staff no visitors are allowed in the building - sorry!

Keep safe. Keep well. Keep 2m apart ( that’s around a paddle length! ).

Be sure to go paddling, staying local of course!!
